A man in his thirties has died after a tubing incident on the Salt River on Sunday afternoon, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say around 3:30 p.m. the man was tubing with friends when he broke away from the group and tried to retrieve a tube that floated away near the Blue Point Bridge.
The man then reportedly became exhausted and went underwater for an unknown period of time.
His friends pulled him out and administered CPR.
He was transported to the hospital and has been pronounced dead.
The man has not been identified at this time.
