Queen Creek fire officials said the train jumped off the tracks in the area of Rittenhouse and Combs roads shortly after 6 p.m. No one was injured in the derailment.
Rittenhouse Road was closed as crews worked to fix the problem.
Officials at the scene said two freight locomotives were on a rail line off the main Union Pacific line in order to connect to a business. The problem occurred on the line leading to that business.
Workers used heavy equipment to haul the two locomotives back toward the main line.
