A Mesa woman is facing charges in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured an 8-year-old boy in Tempe last week.

Alyssa Monique Malone was arrested Thursday in the case on suspicion of failure to render aid after an accident.

Her bond was set at $3,600 at her initial court appearance Friday and she doesn't have a lawyer yet.

Police say they received an anonymous tip that led detectives to the 29-year-old Malone.

Surveillance video of the March 2 accident was released earlier this week.

Police say the car Malone allegedly was driving also has been located and an inspection revealed minimal damage but consistent with where the boy was struck.

They say Malone admitted to driving the vehicle during the accident and was aware she had hit the child.
