Officials are investigating after they found a man in Tempe Town Lake on Thursday.
Tempe police said they received a 911 call from a person who saw a body while they were walking on the Scottsdale Road bridge.
When officers arrived on the scene they found the body in the middle of the lake near Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway.
Police say the body was fully dressed, wearing a backpack and probably had been in the lake for at least a couple of days.
They say there's no information to release yet on the man's name and age.
Emergency crews had to use a boat to recover the body, which was in the middle of the lake.
Police say it's still unclear if foul play was involved in the man's death.
Investigators are checking missing-person reports to see if there are any matching descriptions.
