A man is charged with burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into a Tempe home.
Police were called to a home near Rural Road and Southern Avenue on Tuesday morning after receiving reports about two suspicious people seen wandering the area.
When officers arrived, they were able to find one person, but continued searching the area for the second suspect, a Tempe police spokesperson said.
According to officials, a short time later Devin Bess, 22, was spotted carrying two duffel bags. He's accused of leading police on a short chase through backyards and alleys before being arrested.
Bess is accused of breaking into a Tempe home and stealing multiple items. Additionally, when he was arrested he was allegedly wearing clothing stolen from the victim, a police spokesperson said.
Police were able to identify Bess as the burglary suspect because he allegedly left behind personal items in the home that he targeted.
