A Valley man is accused of assaulting a Tempe couple and taking off with the female victim's shoes.

Court documents show on Feb. 15,  22-year-old Jordan Zajac Hessler broke into the couple's home near Rural and Broadway roads.

Hessler pushed the female victim into the wall, slamming her head 2-3 times against the wall.

The man in the home came over to her and was punched in the face by Hessler.

Police say the man was able to push Hessler out of the home. Police found Hessler in the backyard wearing the female victim's shoes that he stole from inside the home.

The shoes are valued at $15.

Hessler denied going into the home, but did say the shoes were not his.

Hessler is facing charges of assault, trespassing and theft.
