The school day seemed business as usual at Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe on Monday.

No gun violence, despite rumors propagated all weekend long on social media.

Tempe Police said it all started last Wednesday following a fight between students.

Rumors deemed "not credible" circulated that something would happen on campus Friday, police said.

Nothing happened on Friday, but the rumors continued, according to police and school officials.

One rumor including a possible shooting on campus Monday.

School officials sent a letter home to parents explaining the situation over the weekend.

Tempe Police also beefed up patrols and kept a visible presence on campus.

"There was probably a couple of more police officers, on there just patrolling," said Mariah Nolasea, a Junior at Corona Del Sol.

Tempe Union High School District officials said a few parents kept their students from class, but otherwise, attendance seemed normal.

Some students say, they noticed classmates were missing Monday.

"My class, in math, there was about half of us there. We have about 30 kids, there was about 10 or 15 of us," said Kevin Suarez, a junior Corona Del Sol.

School leaders emphasized that students were not in any danger.
