The Tempe Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting Tuesday near the Tempe Marketplace.
Victim of the shooting has died from his injuries. Suspect of shooting has been detained and is being questioned at this time.

Officials said the victim was found shot shortly before 7 p.m. near Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock Drive. Roads in the area were closed off for the investigation.

The shooter told police that he was leaving his workplace when a man with hammer tried to attack him, so he shot him.
The suspect has been detained and is being questioned by Tempe police.
The shooting victim's condition was not released.
