According to court paperwork, 35-year-old Danny Hale Jr. is accused of sexually assaulting an Uber driver on Sunday.
Hale Jr. was a passenger in the vehicle when he allegedly grabbed the female driver inappropriately on the arm and then her private parts several times after being told repeatedly to stop.
On the ride from Gilbert, the victim pushed him away and told him to get out of the vehicle near the Loop 202 and Scottsdale Road before she called police.
Hale Jr. was found shortly after in a parking lot. Police reported that he appeared heavily intoxicated, and appeared to be urinating when they arrived.
Hale Jr. was arrested and booked on one count of sexual abuse.
Uber released the following statement to ABC15:
"The behavior the driver reported is unacceptable and clearly against Uber's policies. The riders have been removed from the app while we continue to look into this incident. We stand ready to help police with their investigation and are grateful for the driver's quick actions."
