According to the Phoenix Fire Department, two vehicles collided, and four people were taken to a hospital for treatment.

A sports car, operated by a man, caught on fire during the collision and the man was trapped. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire and rescue the man. He was taken to a trauma center with multiple serious injuries.

The other vehicle involved in the crash was carrying a 6-year-old girl and her mother and father. The girl was properly restrained, fire officials said, however she was taken to a trauma center in stable condition. Her parents were also taken in stable condition after receiving minor injuries.

The intersection has since reopened to traffic after being closed for the investigation.
