Glendale police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that happened Friday night.

Police responded to the area of 51st and Northern avenues for a crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Police said the vehicle, described by witnesses as a dark-colored sedan, drove away from the scene.

The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Brianna Fischer was working near the scene and heard the crash.

Shortly afterward, Fischer saw a dark car race through the strip mall parking lot on the northwest side of the intersection, she said.

She described it as a dark car, which matches the police description. Fischer then went to the crash scene to help.

"I just ran over there and saw a young man on a motorcycle laying on the [ground] just not moving, not anything," Fischer said.

While another witness performed CPR on the victim, Fischer watched for oncoming vehicles.

"I was standing by them making sure that traffic wasn't hitting [the victim]."

Fischer teared up, and said she ran to help because she hopes someone would do the same for her.

"I just hope that they find whoever did it."
