Police say two teens were stabbed Tuesday afternoon as part of a fight behind a south Phoenix public library

Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump says the 17- and 18-year-old victims were attacked in a dispute behind Cesar Chavez Library, near 40th Avenue and Baseline Road.

Crump says investigators are trying to determine the source of the dispute between the victims and their attackers.

The 18-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries.

Once the victims were attacked, they ran across Cesar Chavez Park and toward Cesar Chavez High School. Police did not put the high school on lockdown, Crump said.

Several library patrons who were inside the library at the time of the incident said they did not hear the fight.

Police say there is no suspect information, but they are looking for a possible newer white Chevy Tahoe.

Crump declined to say whether the victims were students at the school.
