The latest expansion at the Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park opens to the public on Monday.
Adventureland adds 15 acres of new animals and exhibits, four rides and an additional restaurant to the already 120-acre park.
Guests will be greeted into the new area by a large black bear exhibit. They will also see species from north, central and south Americas, including a mountain lion, bobcat, white bison, Arctic fox and a rare tayra, a member of the weasel family.
The new rides include a two-seat zip line, a family roller coaster, an individual swing ride that suspends you 100 feet in the air, and another swing-type ride that features painted macaws.
This brings the total number of rides at the park to 10. Rides are not included with zoo admission and range from $6 - $12 per person.
Our long history of incorporating ride attractions with animals on display has been very popular with our guests since the first African Safari Train experience took visitors through pastures filled with African gazelles, antelope, and birds more than 20 years ago," said Mickey Ollson, founder and CEO of the park, in a media release. "It only made sense to continue that successful approach with Adventure-land."
The park also welcomes a new Mexican restaurant, ZooBerto's.
