Two people were burned when a boat caught fire and exploded on Lake Pleasant on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Peoria Fire Department, four people were injured during the fire. Officials said this happened at the Scorpion Bay fuel dock, although it's unclear if the boat was fueling at the time.

Officials said there was a flash explosion that immediately burned two people; a man in his 50s received burns to 70 percent of his body and was taken to a hospital by a helicopter. Another man was also burned but refused to be taken to a hospital.

Officials said two others were treated on scene for smoke inhalation.

The flames from the boat, a 25- to 35-foot cabin cruiser, were extinguished with the assistance of Phoenix firefighters.

The boat was completely destroyed. Officials are looking into the cause of the explosion.
