A Winslow woman says she’s looking for answers after not receiving payment from the Navajo Nation for the child care services she has provided.

Melissa Nelson, the owner of the daycare facility Imagination Station, says the Navajo Nation failed to pay her for the months of June and July.

Over email, Navajo Nations admitted that they’re at fault and accidentally sent the check to an Imagination Station in New Mexico.

Seven weeks later, Nelson is still waiting to get paid. She explained that the entire ordeal has made her sick to her stomach.

According to Nelson, the Navajo Nation says they’re waiting for the other daycare facility to return the money. Until then, Nelson will have to wait.

The Imagination Station in New Mexico says they were contacted about the mix-up, but they were not provided with an address of where to send it initially. About a week later, they were able to get an address and sent out the check on Friday.
