Election officials are almost done working through a backlog of more than 400,000 early ballots from Tuesday's election.
In an update Wednesday, Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell said her office has about 3,000 early ballots that have not been processed and tabulated. On Tuesday, there were 10,000 early ballots left, so 7,000 were processed. It's unclear on Thursday evening if all the early ballots were tabulated or processed.
There were 51,000 provisional ballots cast on Election Day which needed to be verified by hand before they could be counted, as of Thursday 25,000 were tabulated.
Tabulation continues on Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
Updates are released from the recorder's office every afternoon; updates will be posted around 5 p.m. every day.
