PASSED: Arizona votes in favor of Proposition 206, which will increase the state's minimum wage

An increase in the minimum wage is coming to the Grand Canyon State.

On Tuesday, Arizona voters passed Proposition 206, which will increase the state's minimum wage to $10 per hour in 2017 and to $12 per hour by 2020. Prop 206 will also require businesses with 15 or more employees to provide at least 40 hours of annual paid sick time to employees.

ARIZONA'S MINIMUM WAGE WILL INCREASE TO $12/HOUR BY 2020

Businesses with fewer than 15 employees will be required to provide at least 24 hours of paid sick time per year to each employee. 

Employees and small business owners had differing opinions on how Prop 206 will impact the state.
