Incumbent Sen. John McCain appears to have some stiff competition in his bid for a sixth Senate term this November.
According to a Rocky Mountain Poll released Friday from the Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center, McCain and Democratic challenger Ann Kirkpatrick are in a statistical tie, with each having 42 percent of the vote.
The remaining 16 percent of voters remain undecided.
The poll surveyed 564 registered Arizona voters statewide between April 4 and April 11. It has an overall margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percent.
McCain announced his reelection bid in April 2015, with Kirkpatrick declaring her candidacy a month later.
