Sen. John McCain met with Indiana Gov. and Donald Trump's vice presidential pick, Mike Pence, campaign spokeswoman Lorna Romero confirmed to ABC15.
Pence, who wrapped up a town hall in Tucson this afternoon, has another town hall scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Phoenix Convention Center.
Specific details on the meeting were not immediately available.
"Upon scheduling a trip to Arizona, Governor Pence's office reached out to John McCain to request a meeting. John McCain was happy to welcome Governor Pence to Phoenix, and they enjoyed a very friendly meeting, during which they discussed a variety of issues," Romero said in a statement.
The meeting comes on the heels of news that Trump will not support McCain in his upcoming Aug. 30 primary.
