Authorities say a 14-year-old boy and his mother kidnapped in Cottonwood on Friday morning have been found safe.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says both were located at a home in the nearby town of Clarkdale and appeared in good condition.
Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn says an unknown man forced the woman into a car that was reported stolen.
Meanwhile, the teen was allegedly forced into a second car.
Authorities say they arrested a male suspect at the home where the woman and boy were found for his involvement in the car theft. Deputies say it appears the suspect was somehow involved with the mother.
Deputies say one of the stolen vehicles was found floating in the Verde River a few miles away. The other car was located at a home nearby.
