It counted as a run just like any safe slide into home would -- but in terms of style points, Jake Lamb received a 0 out of 10 on this one.
During Thursday's matinee matchup at the San Francisco Giants, the Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman scored off a base hit from Paul Goldschmidt to give the D-backs a 2-0 lead in the third inning.
But Lamb is certainly happy to know that this less-than-graceful slide won't show up in the box score.
Uh, that was the plan all along, right @JakeLamb18? pic.twitter.com/0QZipJ8oha

Fortunately, Lamb was able to make light of it after the game.
Sliding practice tomorrow....??

And of course, it helps that, despite his failed slide, the D-backs went on to complete their first ever four-game road sweep in San Francisco.
