On Tuesday October 8, authorities arrested and raided the home of Paul D. Petersen, the Maricopa County Assessor, in relation to an alleged adoption fraud scheme.

Following his arrest, the scope of the alleged scheme became public, highlighting a multi-state investigation, with dozens of women potentially involved.
