Wanted: Anthony Joe Vega
Charges: Failing to register as a sex offender
In 2008, Anthony Joe Vega, age 24, represented himself as a 17-year-old and began a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. The girl later had a baby with Vega and did not find out his actual age until she filed for child support and was told that Vega was 24.
She contacted Mesa police when they saw that Vega was continuing to misrepresent his age on social media and having relationships with other underage girls.
Vega later pleaded guilty to attempted sexual conduct with a minor and was given lifetime probation.
He was arrested in May of this year after "numerous unsuccessful discharges from two different sex offender treatment agencies," according to court paperwork.
Vega, an "untreated sex offender," was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating his probation and was released in early September 2018.
He never checked in with probation services upon his release and has not been seen since.
Vega is now 32-years-old. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
