The CW Premiere Week is one of the biggest weeks every year for the network. This year features a brand new show featuring a familiar literary character and a local actor.
Nancy Drew is one of the newest shows added to The CW’s lineup this year, featuring Kennedy McMann, who grew up in Mesa, Ariz., as Nancy Drew herself.
“Our commitment to showcasing Nancy as a real and complicated person is probably my favorite part of the show,” said McMann who quickly added, “And the ghost don’t hurt too. Those are pretty fun.”
Scott Wolf, who plays Nancy Drew’s dad, Carson, says he grew up reading mystery books (huge Hardy Boys fan) and was immediately drawn to the show when first reading the script.
“I was intrigued because obviously Nancy Drew is something I had grown up with, I was familiar with, but seeing the direction they were taking it in, how committed they were to these relationships and elaborating and using what we have at our disposal in 2019 to explore and show these mysteries was really exciting to me,” said Wolf.
Nancy Drew premieres on YourPHX CW on Wednesday, October 9, at 8.p.m. Watch our full interview with McMann and Wolf at the top of this page.
