PHOENIX – Nothing in the CW is official until Stephen Amell tweets it.
The Arrow lead tweeted this in response to the news that Tom Welling will be reprising Smallville’s Clark Kent in The CW’s upcoming crossover event.
Welling’s version of Superman will join two other Supermans played by Tyler Hoechlin and Brandon Routh.
Hoechlin currently plays Superman on The CW’s Supergirl, and Brandon Routh has spent the past years as Ray Palmer/The Atom on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
“For eight years, Arrow has stood on the shoulders of Smallville. Simply put, there would be no Arrow, and no Arrowverse, without it,” said Arrow executive producer Mark Guggenheim in an interview with Deadline. “So when we first started talking about Crisis on Infinite Earths, our first, second and third priorities were getting Tom to reprise his iconic role as Clark Kent. To say that we’re thrilled would be a Superman-sized understatement.”
Crisis on Infinite Earths will be The CW’s largest crossover event thus far and will total five hours, premiering on October 6.
