Move over popcorn and boxed candy, movie theater food is getting an upgrade.
AMC Theatres on Wednesday officially launched its new menu at seven of its Arizona theaters. (The AMC Esplanade dine-in theater has its own menu.)
The new menu items include a chicken-and-waffle sandwich, flatbread pizzas, a 1 1/2-pound Bavarian pretzel, pretzel bites and gourmet popcorn.

The flatbread pizzas come in four flavors -- cheese, pepperoni, Buffalo chicken and BBQ chicken. The pretzel toppings include cinnamon sugar, honey mustard, parmesan garlic and salted.
Gluten-free snacks have also been added to the menu, according to a release.
It was developed by Jessica James, culinary director for AMC Theaters.
