PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that Wade Cota, the Phoenix singer who placed fourth on this year's season of American Idol, will sing the national anthem at Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies.
Cota will sing the national anthem at 12:25 p.m., the D-backs said. First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. Tickets to the game are still available and start at $16 at last check.
Just last week, Cota joined country singer and Idol judge, Luke Bryan, on stage for a surprise performance in front of 20,000 fans at Ak-Chin Pavilion.
"Got to surprise Phoenix with their own @wadecota tonight. Kill it as usual," Bryan tweeted, along with a photo of the two singing on stage.
