Could the next American Idol be in Arizona?

It looks like the Valley of the Sun is about to find out.

The reality-singing competition announced on Wednesday that it will hold auditions for its second season (on ABC) in 20 cities across the United States, including in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Idol audition bus is slated to visit Arizona on Tuesday, August 28.

Specific details on where the auditions will take place in Scottsdale and how to sign up will be released at a later date, a spokesperson said.

After fifteen seasons on FOX, Idol went on a brief hiatus before being picked up by ABC.

Maddie Poppe, of Iowa, won ABC's first season of Idol.

Poppe and the other Top 7 contestants -- Jurnee, Michael J. Woodard, Gabby Barrett, Catie Turner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Cade Foehner -- will embark on a national tour this summer with Kris Allen, the winner of American Idol's 8th season.

That tour visits the Mesa Arts Center on Tuesday, July 24.
