Andy's Frozen Custard is set to open in Phoenix, its first location in Arizona.
The Missouri-based custard eatery plans to open July 12 in the Ahwatukee Palms Plaza near 48th Street and Warner Road, according to general manager Beth Compton.
The hours will be Sunday - Thursday 11 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. and 11 a.m. - midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Andy's menu features a variety of custard-based desserts including custard cups with fruit and sauce toppings; concretes, custard mixed with fruit, nuts and candy, along with shakes, malts and "old-fashioned freezes."
"We think the growth, diversity, weather and 'vibe' of this city make it a great place for new businesses to thrive, specifically a frozen custard business," Compton said in an email.
Compton said the managing partners hope to open between three and four locations in the next two years. A second location is planned for Mesa, she said.
According to its website, Andy's started in Osage Beach, Missouri on March 19, 1986.
