PHOENIX — Whether you're on the West Coast and need to cool down or on the East Coast and need to warm up, Applebee's' latest promotion may accomplish both. And despite being unveiled on April Fool's Day, this is apparently no joke.
The restaurant chain is bringing back its $1 strawberry margaritas, called "Dollaritas,' for April. The alcoholic drink first made its debut in August 2018.

This time around, however, the drink has ditched the plastic straw for an edible one -- a Twizzler. Each drink is made with tequila, strawberry and margarita mix, and served on the rocks with a Twizzler, according to a news release.
“Sippin’ on a Strawberry Dollarita through a strawberry-flavored Twizzlers straw is just about the coolest and most exciting way to drink a margarita. No question about it," said Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation, in a statement.
The promotion is part of the chain's "Neighborhood Drink of the Month." Each month, there is a new cocktail available for a dollar or two. Past promos have included the Hurricane, a 10-ounce pour of Bud Light, and vodka lemonade.
Availability and pricing may vary between restaurants, the release said.
