Dust off those skis and snowboards because Arizona Snowbowl will open for the season today, Nov. 16.
For those planning to make the drive up, here is what you need to know:
WHICH RUNS WILL BE OPEN?
To start, the mountainous ski hill in Flagstaff will open four of its intermediate runs -- Midway Catwalk, Logjam, Wild Turkey and Round Up -- and three terrain features, such as their rail or jumps.
For the little ones, the "Little Spruce" conveyor will be up and running near the Hart Prairie Lodge, the ski hill said.
There are a total of 45 runs of varying levels which will open depending on how much snow is made and how much natural snow falls throughout the season.
WHAT ARE THE HOURS?
The ski hill will be open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. However, organizers recommend arriving 30-60 minutes earlier to purchase tickets and get rental gear, if you need it.
HOW MUCH ARE LIFT TICKETS?
Lift tickets start at $35 when bought online and are $59 at the ski hill. Prices will vary throughout the season. They can be purchased online or at the ticket windows outside Hart Prairie Lodge.
WHAT GEAR DO I NEED?
You can bring your own gear if you have it or you can rent skis, snowboards and gear. Arizona Snowbowl recommends bringing the following:
- Skis
- Snowboards
- Hats
- Gloves
- Sunglasses or goggles
- Ski/Snowboard helmet
- Boots
- Socks
- Warm clothes (dress in layers: base layer, insulation, weather protection)
