GILBERT, AZ — If you love cinnamon rolls, you're going to want to get your taste buds ready because there is a new dessert spot opening soon in the Valley.

Cinnaholic, the gourmet bakery concept where people can customize their own cinnamon rolls with flavored frostings and toppings, has announced that their first location in Arizona will open on Friday, July 12 in Gilbert.

The store is located at 1887 E. Williams Field Road, near Williams Field Road and SanTan Village Parkway, near the Trader Joe's grocery store.

As part of the grand opening, the shop will have $1 cinnamon rolls from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. that day, said franchisee Shantell Hobbensiefken, who is opening the shop with her husband, Aaron. The store itself will be open until 10 p.m. that day.

They will also have fans and water to keep people cool, visits from Disney-inspired characters, a DJ, and other kids activities, she said.

"We come out with a bang," she told ABC15 on Friday.

The ordering process at Cinnaholic is similar to the other do-it-yourself dessert concepts that have opened around the Valley where people pick their dessert and choose from a selection of flavors and add-ons.

People will be able to top their roll with one of 20 frosting flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, coffee, almond, strawberry, cake batter, cream cheese, raspberry, or lemon. Then come the toppings: brownie bites, cookie pieces, cookie dough bites, fruit, or pie crust crumbles, among others.

All of the cinnamon rolls are made in-house and will be served to customers within 30 minutes of baking in the oven, said Hobbensiefken. Each dessert starts at $5.25, she said, with additional charges for toppings.

They will also sell cookies, brownies, cookie dough, baby buns (mini cinnamon rolls), and "cinnacakes," which is a pan of cinnamon rolls stuck together and topped with frosting and other toppings to look like a cake (consider this to be the cinnamon roll version of those cupcake cakes).

Shantell said she and her husband left their jobs and moved their three children to Arizona last year from California.

"We were looking for a unique franchise. We know Arizona didn't have one, and we'd be the first," she said.

"I love that it is a unique experience," she added.

Will more locations be coming to the Valley? She said while no other plans are concrete, they do hope to open a second location in the East Valley.
