PHOENIX — Comerica Theatre is out. Arizona Federal Theatre is in.

Live Nation announced Wednesday that Arizona Federal Credit Union, the $1.9 billion Phoenix-based financial institution, has obtained the naming rights to the 5,000-seat concert venue in downtown Phoenix. The change went into effect on Wednesday.

“We’re excited to add Live Nation to our growing list of partners, including Phoenix Rising, Arizona Humane Society, and The 100 Club of Arizona, among many others,” said Ronald Westad, president/CEO of Arizona Federal Credit Union in a statement. “Together we’re committed to creating a vibrant and active community here in the Valley.”

“It was clear from the first conversation we had with Arizona Federal Credit Union that they share in our commitment to deliver incredible experiences that bring the Phoenix community together,” said Andy Peikon, senior vice president of Live Nation venue sales operations, in a statement.

The 17-year-old venue opened in April 2002. It is located on the northwest corner of Washington Street and Fourth Avenue.
