Crossroads Park in Gilbert will have a few more attractions to enjoy in the next few years.

That is because development plans are underway to build an 18-hole miniature-golf course, outdoor maze, and splash pad at the park located near Warner and Greenfield Roads.

Jennifer Alvarez, spokesperson for the Town of Gilbert, confirmed to ABC15 in an email Tuesday that the new additions will be built on four acres of undeveloped land in the northeast part of the park. Construction also includes a building that will house party rooms, concessions, restrooms and office space.

The project is called SanTan Adventure Park.

Alvarez said the project is expected to bring in $92,000 on average in yearly revenue for the town. She added that the operation costs for the town will be low -- $750 a year for asphalt maintenance.

SAP Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Castle Golf, LLC which is based in Mesa, is behind the project, according to a Gilbert Town Council agenda.

Ben Cooper of Castle Golf said in an email to ABC15 that construction is expected to begin next year. He expects the park to open in fall 2018.

There is the potential for future phases. However, those details have not been determined yet, said Cooper.

The splash pad will be built within 18 months of opening the park.
