On Friday, May 11, every Dutch Bros. location across the Valley will donate all of their proceeds to the Muscular Dystrophy Association as part of their "Drink One for Dane" annual fundraiser.
This is the 12th year Dutch Bros. has partnered with MDA. In 2017, the fundraiser brought in about $1 million in one day.
Company co-founder Dane Boersma was diagnosed with ALS and passed away in 2009. The company says "Drink One for Dane" lives on to honor his legacy and continue the fight against ALS.
“Dutch Bros. was founded by two brothers, Travis and Dane Boersma. They started the company in 1992, and it now has 308 stores and is growing very rapidly," said franchise Owner Jim Thompson. "But the significance of Drink One for Dane is that Dane, the senior brother of Travis, died from ALS. Since his passing and as the stores grow, an increasing amount of money is raised each year to benefit MDA. Last year, we raised a million dollars in one day, and we’re aiming to beat that goal this year.”
