Less than a year after opening, El Panzon y Friday in Scottsdale has closed.
"Our El Panzon Y Frida family want [sic] to take this opportunity to thank all of you our patrons, friends, and family for the opportunity of serving you," the Mexican restaurant wrote in a Nov. 3 Facebook post. "It's with a saddened heart that we are closing our doors."
The Mexican restaurant opened in March within Old Town Scottsdale, near Scottsdale and Camelback roads. It was led by owners Luis Montano and Veronica Fernandez, and Chef Paulina.
The restaurant's public relations firm said the closure was the result of a "personal family decision."
At least four Valley restaurants have closed or shut down locations in recent weeks -- Alice Cooper'stown, Okra and Z'Tejas. (Z'Tejas closed three of its five Valley restaurants).
