June restaurant openings: 13 eateries to try around the Valley
Modern Market (Ahwatukee) - Modern Market is a fast-casual restaurant based in Colorado. The menu features breakfast, lunch and dinner options including salads, sandwiches and pizza. They also serve local Arizona wine and beer. Earlier this year, Modern Market opened a location in Scottsdale. In June, it opened a second eatery in Ahwatukee. Address: 4901 E. Smashburger - The national burger chain opened its 24th restaurant in the Phoenix metro, this time in Peoria. As its name implies, Smashburger smashes its burgers on the griddle to give their burgers a crisp outside.handout

Tomaso's When In Rome - Chef Tomaso Maggiore, the chef behind Tomaso's and Tommy V's Osteria Pizzeria, opened a new concept in Scottsdale, Tomaso's When in Rome. The chef said he wanted to create an "authentic Roman trattoria," in a news release. The inside features Roman inspired painting, artwork, and columns.Debby Wolvos

Press Coffee Roasters (Phoenix) - Press Coffee opened its flagship location at 1616 N. Central Avenue in Phoenix. This is the coffee shop's fifth location in the Valley since opening in 2008, and is across from the Phoenix Art Museum at The Muse.Press Coffee Roasters

Camp Social - The camping-themed restaurant opened off Phoenix's 7th Street in June. It is a new concept from the owners behind Scottsdale's Old Town Gringos. The interior features a U-shaped bar with two tire-swing seats and wood accents throughout.Camp Social

Blaze Pizza - The LeBron James-backed fast-casual pizza chain opened its sixth Arizona location in Glendale. The eatery can be found at the Arrowhead Town Center near 79th Avenue and Bell Road.
