February restaurant openings: 10 new eateries to try in the Valley

MODERN MARKET

Modern Market is a Colorado-based restaurant chain that serves simple dishes using quality ingredients from farms. The menu features a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including salads, sandwiches and pizzas. It opened its first Arizona location near Scottsdale Fashion Square. It is located in the same complex as Postino's.

THE OAK ROOM KITCHEN AND BAR

The Oak Room is one of the newest restaurants to Mesa. The gastropub features a horseshoe bar and a large Oak tree in the middle of the dining room with lights hanging down from the ceiling.

The Oak Room serves brunch, lunch and dinner. The menu features gourmet burgers, salads, sandwiches, seafood and meats.

Freddy's opened another one of its locations north of Phoenix in the Anthem Crossroads Shopping Center. The fast-food chain serves steakburgers, custard, Vienna beef hot dogs and shoestring fries. Freddy's has plans to open other locations in Gilbert, Peoria and Scottsdale.

POKITRITION POKE SHOP

Poke is the latest food trend. It is a Hawaiian dish that combines raw fish, rice, veggies and other toppings. Pokitrition's staple is sushi burritos (or sushi-ritos)! Pokitrition opened in Chandler!

If you prefer the bowl, they do offer a make-your-own-Poke bowl. 

THE ROOSTER TAVERN

The Rooster Tavern celebrated its grand opening in January, at the very end. Since we missed them the first time, we bumped them to our February listing.
