The bar is now open at one of Tempe's newest nightlife spots.
Rodeo Ranch, a western-themed bar equipped with a mechanical bull, animal heads on the wall, and hide-backed booths, opened earlier this week near 5th Street and Mill Avenue.
It took over the former Gringo Star Street Bar space.
"It's come together quickly, but it's been months and months in the works and, you know, all the hard work has finally come to fruition," said Manager Euan Holden.
The 3,000-square-foot concept is one of three that Texas-based Reign Group, a hospitality company, plans to open on that corner.
In the coming months, they will open Varsity Tavern, a two-story sports bar that turns into a nightclub, on the upper floors in the former Hooter's spaces, and Chubby's BBQ, a Texas-style barbecue restaurant.
Chubby's will be located behind Rodeo Ranch.
"We're just excited for the challenge to try and bring something fun and energetic to the area and hope people can enjoy it," he said.
Besides the mechanical bull, there are 18 flat-screen TVs, arcade games, a DJ, and club-style lighting throughout the bar.
To start, the hours will be Monday - Friday, 3 p.m. - 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
