Christmas music is playing on the radio and light displays have begun to pop up across the Valley.
It all means that the holiday season has officially begun!
Whether you need a break from shopping or an outdoor activity to do with the family, a few of the shopping centers around town are screening Christmas movies throughout the month of December.
They're all outdoors so you depending on your tolerance for Arizona's frigid -- (I'm joking, I swear) -- winters, you may want to dress warmly. Chairs, blankets and snacks are allowed at all the events listed below.
Arrowhead Towne Center
The movies will be shown at the Towne Center's amphitheater. They will start at dusk, according to its website. There will be popcorn, hot chocolate and giveaways.

- Dec. 8 – The Santa Clause
- Dec. 15 – The Polar Express
- Dec. 22 – Elf

Scottsdale Quarter
Each movie will be shown at "The Quad." Showtime is 6 p.m. Chairs, blankets and snacks are welcome.

- Dec. 14 - The Polar Express
- Dec. 21 - The Nightmare Before Christmas

Phoenix Civic Space Park
The park in downtown Phoenix will show a double feature on Saturday, Dec. 1. The earlier movie is kid- and family-friendly. The latter is rated R and geared toward adults. Santa will visit for photos from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Dec. 1 - The Muppet Christmas Carol (PG, 6 p.m.) and Love Actually (R, 8 p.m.)

Odysea in the Desert
It's not necessarily a Christmas movie, but Odysea in the Desert will show a free family-friendly movie as part of its "Free Movies in the Desert" series. Music and games start at 5 p.m. and the movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Chairs, snacks and blankets are welcome.
