Free movies in the park: 11 to see in March, April and May around Phoenix

While the East Coast is buried in snow, here in Arizona, we're continuing to enjoy our sunny and warm "winter" weather. Sorry, East Coast friends.

Make some popcorn and snacks, and bring blankets and chairs to watch a kid-friendly movie with the family under the night sky.

Here is a quick roundup of free outdoor movie nights happening around the Valley in March, April and May:

Arizona Biltmore - Movies in the Bark

The Phoenix shopping center has three dog-themed movie nights planned for Friday nights in March. The movie will start at 7 p.m. in the Center Lawn. More information.

City of Mesa Ride-In Movies

Mesa's monthly movie series continues at Skyline and Summit parks in April and May. People are encouraged to walk or ride his or her bike to the park. Don't forget your helmet and light. More information.

  • Saturday, April 28 - Disney's Cars 3, 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Skyline Park.
  • Saturday, May 5 - The Emoji Movie, 7:45 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at Summit Park

There will be activities and games in the center courtyard beginning at 5 p.m. Movies are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. More information.

The movie will be screened at the Barnes & Noble Courtyard from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Feel free to bring blankets or chairs. Some of the local restaurants will have grab-and-go meals for sale. More information.
