When it comes to the frigid temperatures of the North Pole, Santa does not mind making his way down to Arizona to warm up under our sunny skies.
However, this time around, Santa may look a little bit different than his usually Jolly red-suited self. He sports a red beanie, a form-fitting olive blazer and dark jeans.
He's going to be in Phoenix this week and you can meet him. Hipster Santa, though busy, was nice enough to talk with us via phone for this one-of-a-kind story.
Here are a few things we learned:
He's all about Uber! During our phone conversation, Hipster Santa said when he visits the Valley, Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer usually park at South Mountain. He then travels via Uber to his various events and meet-and-greets around town.
What does Hipster Santa do during the offseason? Not much. He said he goes to the beach and travels, while the elves make toys.
Does he visit during the summer? "I try not to. I used to have family here 500 years ago, but they moved out. I come to Flagstaff every once in a while for the Blue Grass Festival," he said.
Where can you see him next? Hipster Santa will be at the Phoenix Public Market on Thursday, Dec. 15, for the Phoestivus 2016 festival. Seated in his chair, he'll ready to take pictures with kids and adults and listen to your wish lists. (For the adults, he's also interested in learning about your favorite music, craft beer and tattoos.)
We're told that last Thursday, many kids and adults got to hang with Hipster Santa.
