SCOTTSDALE, AZ — An Italian steakhouse is headed to Scottsdale in 2020.

Pomo Restaurant Group, the group behind a handful of restaurants in the Valley, including Pomo Pizzeria, Mora Italian, and Meat The Ball, recently announced their plans to open The Americano, a contemporary Italian steakhouse, in north Scottsdale.

The 7,000-square-foot restaurant is the latest to open at Chauncey Lane, a development near Scottsdale Road and the Loop 101, and joins Lou Malnati's, Chauncey Social, and OEB Breakfast Co, the latter two of which opened within the last two months. The Americano is expected to open in early 2020.

"The Americano will bring the best of both worlds from Italy and America to provide some of the finest steaks, seafood and pasta that Arizona has to offer," Executive Chef Matthew Taylor said in a statement.

The restaurant's menu will feature fine steaks, certified Italian Piedmontese cattle, domestic Wagyu beef, house-made pasta, salads, antipasti, a raw bar, and caviar, according to the announcement.

It will have an open kitchen, a wood-fired grill, a bar and lounge, and an outdoor patio. The dining room will be designed with a dark grey and green color pattern, crescent booths, and butcher block tables, the release said.

The restaurant is looking to fill 60-80 part-time or full-time positions ahead of its opening, including servers, assistant servers, food runners, hostesses, bartenders, barbacks, cooks, and stewards.

A job fair will be held Jan. 3-8, 2020, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Pomo's corporate office, 5727 N. 7th Street #309, in Phoenix. An updated resume is required.
