Arizona is home to some eye-popping over-the-top desserts.
We've discovered gigantic milkshakes, Instagram-friendly diamond gelato bars, a "beignet tree," and a dessert shop completely dedicated to churros.
Our latest find is the "La Bomba" dessert at Toro Latin Restaurant and Rum Bar, one of the signature restaurants at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
I'll cut straight to the point: you're going to want to check this dessert out, but also, you're going to want to bring a couple of friends to eat it.
Translated to "the bomb" in Spanish, this dessert is a schmorgesborg of chocolate, ice cream (3 scoops), gelato, (2 scoops), berries (blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry), cheesecake bites, candied pistachios and sweet sauces.
Watch the video above to see how this monster of a dessert is made.
Because this dessert is intentionally messy -- controlled, but messy -- the wait staff clears the table and places two plastic mats to protect it...and you.
The chocolate sphere is filled with all the ingredients and then suspended into the air.
"La Bomba!"
It is then dropped from maybe a foot, maybe a foot-and-a-half, onto the table where it breaks apart sending shards of chocolate, ice cream and gelato across the table. Then three sauces -- a lime anglaise, raspberry sauce and passion fruit -- are drizzled on top.
The dessert is $32. If you have four friends, that's $8 a piece.
