Update (Dec. 9, 2019): Single tickets to see The Lion King at ASU Gammage went on sale Monday morning, Dec. 9, 2019. The show is scheduled to be at the Tempe theater for four weeks next summer, June 17 - July 12, 2020. Tickets can be bought at www.asugammage.com.
For those who missed his or her shot the first time around, another one is on the way, but you'll have to rise up and wait another year, possibly a tad longer than that.
Hamilton, the Tony Award-winning smash hit musical about Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, is coming back to ASU Gammage, but not until its 2020-2021 season. It will be joined by another highly-anticipated musical, Disney's Frozen, which is based on the hit animated movie (Sorry dads, "Let It Go" is not going anywhere anytime soon).
The announcements came Monday night during ASU Gammage's season announcement event for its 2019-2020 season, which will feature 10 shows, including Anastasia, based on the 1997 animated film; Mean Girls, a musical from comedian Tina Fey and based on the 2004 movie; and Come From Away, a musical that tells the story of 7,000 airline passengers who were transported to Newfoundland, an island off the coast of Canada, in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Other shows part of the regular season include Miss Saigon, Summer, Fiddler on the Roof and Once on this Island.
Broadway fans will also see return visits from a few shows, including Blue Man Group, Beautiful, and The Lion King. The latter three are considered "season options" and are not part of regular season subscriptions.
Subscriptions start at $195 and go on sale on Monday, May 13, according to ASU Gammage.
