Summertime is often the time of year to fire up the grill and enjoy a meal with friends on the back porch or sip drinks and snack on appetizers on the patio with friends at a local restaurant.
That's probably true for all the states that get blanketed by snow during the winter, but for Arizona, summer is usually the time that we head indoors to escape 100-degree temperatures.
Still, OpenTable has unveiled its annual listing of the top 100 "Al Fresco" restaurants in America. The listing features restaurants with "stunning views, delicious menus and above all else, incredible outdoor dining experiences worth the trip."
This year's list highlights eight Arizona restaurants:
- Cafe Monarch
- El Chorro
- Gertrude's at Desert Botanical Garden
- LON's at Hermosa Inn
- Mariposa (Sedona)
- Olive and Ivy
- TONTO Bar and Grill at Rancho Manana
- Wildflower (Tucson)
The listing was created using reviews from more than 12 million verified OpenTable users of 27,000 restaurants between May 1, 2017, and April 30, 2018, according to OpenTable. Each restaurant also had to have "outdoor dining" selected as a special feature.
In 2017, 21 Arizona restaurants made OpenTable's list; eight in 2016; and seven in 2015.
