For at least the third year in a row, Kai Restaurant and Monarch have been named to OpenTable's "100 Best Restaurants in America."
New this year, Barrio Cafe Gran Reserva, which opened in June, and is led by Chef Silvana Salcido Esparza, was named to the list.
Located on Grand Avenue near the three-street intersection of 15th Avenue and Roosevelt Street, Esparza's latest culinary project features just 27 seats, including a two-seat bar.
It features Esparza's personal take on Mexican cuisine in the form of a tasting menu, along with some of her personal favorite dishes.
"Wow, just wow!! Gracias muchachos" Esparza wrote on her Facebook page, along with a link to OpenTable's list.
Kaiis the signature restaurant at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass and the state's only AAA Five Diamond restaurant. Its menu features dishes inspired by the Pima and Maricopa Native American tribes and sources ingredients locally from the Gila River Indian Community.
Monarch is a fine-dining restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale that features a four-course pre-fixe menu that changes weekly.
OpenTable said its list was curated using more than 10 million reviews from its verified members between Nov. 1, 2015 and Oct. 31, 2016.
New York has the most restaurants on the list with 13. California has the second most at 12, followed by Virginia with seven. View complete list.
