PHOENIX — Movie buffs eager to see all of the "Best Picture" nominees before the Oscars telecast (shameless plug: the Oscars air Sunday, Feb. 9 on ABC15) still have a couple weeks to hit the movie theaters.

As they usually do, both AMC Theatres and Harkins Theatres will host their own "Best Picture" showcases where people can spend a day at the theater watching most of the "Best Picture" nominees (Netflix's two nominated films -- Marriage Story and The Irishman -- are not part of either theaters' showcases, but are available to watch on Netflix).

There are nine films competing for this year's top honor: Ford V Ferrari, The Irishman, JoJo Rabbit, Joker, Little Women, Marriage Story, 1917, Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood, and Parasite.

Here is what you need to know about both theaters' showcases.

2020 AMC BEST PICTURE SHOWCASE
More information.

AMC will screen seven of the nine "Best Picture"-nominated movies over two Saturdays in February: Feb. 1 and Feb. 8, the day before the Oscars.

Four AMC theaters in the Valley are participating.

AMC Ahwatukee 24; noon.
AMC Dine-In Esplanade 14; noon.
AMC Dine-In Desert Ridge 18; noon.
AMC Arrowhead 14; noon.

On Feb. 1, 2020, AMC will screen Ford V Ferrari, Joker, and Little Women one after the other, totaling 7 hours and 15 minutes of movie watching, according to its website.

On Feb. 8, 2020, the remaining movies will be shown -- Jojo Rabbit, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Parasite and 1917 -- totaling nine hours and 59 minutes of movie watching, according to the website.

Tickets to the showcase are $35-$40 per person. Tickets can be bought online or at the box office. At last check, some of the theaters had very limited seats remaining. Of course, if you do not need to see all of the movies at once, there are individual show times throughout the week.

HARKINS BEST PICTURE FILM FEST
More information.

Harkins will also show seven of the nine "Best Picture"-nominated films. However, instead of showing them on two individual days, the Scottsdale-based theatre is selling a pass to its "Best Picture Film Fest," which spans two weeks.

For $35, people can watch any of the seven movies between Jan. 31, 2020 and Feb. 13, 2020. Those who are part of "My Harkins Awards," the theater's free loyalty program, will also receive a $10 credit to use on concessions. Passes can be bought online or at the box office.

Eight Harkins theaters in the Valley are participating:

Arrowhead Fountains 18
Camelview at Fashion Square
Chandler Fashion 20
Estrella Falls 16
Scottsdale 101 14
Shea 14
Superstition Springs 25
Tempe Marketplace 16

Same as with AMC, if you do not plan on seeing all seven films, Harkins is also showing individual screenings of each film.
