The owners behind Phoenix cocktail concepts UnderTow and newly-opened Probrecito plan to open a third concept in the soon-to-be-vacated Gino's East building.

After 18 months in business, the Chicago pizzeria will close its Phoenix restaurant on Oct. 28, the restaurant confirmed on Wednesday.

"With much regret, the Gino’s East Phoenix location will be closing its doors," the company said in a statement. "To our many regular customers and Chicago transplants, we are very grateful for the support you gave us. The people of Phoenix welcomed the Gino’s East team with open arms, and for that we will be forever thankful and will always remember your kindness."

You can read their full statement at the end of this story.

The new concept from Barter and Shake owners, Jason Asher and Rich Furnari, does not have a name yet nor have many details been released on what it will consist of.

Asher said they've seen success in Arcadia with UnderTow and that the Gino's East building being next door "made sense."

The duo is planning a spring opening for the new concept.

SimonCRE, a Scottsdale developer, renovated the 4,431-square-foot building in 2016.

It is not known if Gino's East plans to relocate to another part of the Valley or Arizona, or intends to pull out of the market entirely.

When asked, a spokesperson said: 'We have a team in-house that is working to address this situation."

For those looking for Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, Lou Malnati's and Giordano's both have two restaurants in the Valley. Lou Malnati's has locations in central Phoenix and Scottsdale and Giordano's is located in Peoria and Paradise Valley.

Buddyz Pizza has three locations in the East Valley.

For the last two years, Gino’s East Phoenix has proudly served Chicago style deep dish pizza to the Phoenix community, in a family-friendly atmosphere.

We are grateful to everyone who had supported us in our efforts to bring Chicago Style Pizza to Arizona. Many thanks to the wonderful people we got to know who worked with us both behind the scenes in the kitchen and in the front of the house serving each and every customer. Residents of Phoenix can enjoy Gino’s East until October 28th, which will be our last day of operation.
