The Rose and Crown, an intimate English pub inside one of the historic houses at Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix, is closing.
Dennis Kolodin, a broker with Metro Realty Phoenix, and who manages some of the tenants of the historic block, confirmed the news to ABC15. He said the bar's lease was up.
It was not immediately clear if the pub decided not to renew its lease, or if an extension was not offered.
Kolodin said they already have another restaurant that is interested in the space, but was unable to say anything as the agreement was still in negotiations.
It is not clear when the pub's last day will be. No official announcements have been posted to Rose and Crown's Facebook page, and messages sent to the pub's owner have not been returned.
Staff at Heritage Square deferred comment to Kolodin.
The Phoenix New Times, which first reported the news Wednesday morningreported that the pub's owner posted a note in a Facebook group saying they were looking at the possibility of relocating in downtown Phoenix.
